   Chesney Hughes makes a 50* (34 balls) so far. Not sure how flat the pitch is but he's facing some really good bowlers (Masters, Chris Martin, and Graham Napier).

    Another good report is that Adil Rashid has become really good friends with Tino Best. The commentators say they are almost inseparable. Earlier that morning Adil was imitating the Tino celebration.

    I hope having a friend in the dressing room helps Tino to adjust to the foreign setting.

    Same old ways though...

    Essex were 136 for five at tea and in a moment of petulance, Best, bowling at the pavilion end, hurled the ball back at Bairstow after Pettini had pushed at it defensively, but it went well wide of the wicketkeeper for four overthrows.

    Gale managed to calm the bowler and Best went on to end Pettini's brave innings of 47 with an express delivery that caught him lbw.
